    Hi,

Also I cannot update my McAfee Anti-Virus software or run Firefox.
Google is affected as all entries lead to another search engine and pop-ups even though I have them switched off.
I cannot get to you on my computer as all forums are blocked so I am having to use the one at work.
I have used SuperAntiSpyWare and got rid of a few malware that it found but it has made no difference. I cannot upgrade this also!
I think the problem started when I looked at Antispyware 2009, I got rid of that by uninstalling but I suspect it left alot of extra baggage.
I enclose the latest HiJackthis. I hope this shows something.

    Welcome to Majorgeeks!

To fully guage what is happening with your PC and the infection possibly causing this, please follow the instructions in the below link and attach the requested logs when you finish these instructions. If something does not run, write down the info to explain to us later but keep on going. Do not assume that because one step does not work that they all will not.

    Hi,

Well I managed to go through some of the steps outlined in your reply. Not all of them though, since for some, one had to pay and I was relying on a third party to copy them on to a CD. This was as I could not get them myself as explained previously. The upshot is of those that I did run at least one of them did the trick! I enclose the logs that I got as they may be of use.

A general point - why do so many anti-virus systems depend on I.E alone? Virus writers obviously take advantage of this and strike between one upgrade and the next.

    Anyway thanks for your advice.

Everything in the READ & RUN ME is free so I'm not sure what you are referring too. Unless you attach all the logs, we cannot tell you if you are really clean. Based on the only logs that you attached, you may not be totally clean.

Not sure what you are referring too unless you are referring to online scanners.
