I turned on our computer (Windows XP professional 1) and got the following message: "Windows could not start and the following file is corrupt:" System 32\Drivers\ntfs.sys
Then the following message appeared something like "to repair windows using original set-up disk and press 'R' to repair"

So i put in the Windows XP disk and pressed 'R' when prompted then the following message appeared: " The recovery console provides system repair and recovery functionality. Type 'Exit' to quit recovery console and restart your computer, c:\"

So i typed exit and no luck with the same message "to repair windows using..."

Any suggestions on how the repair this damaged file????

Repair installation: boot from cd ....enter to install ....f8 to agreement ...then it will look for previous installed versions of windows ...when it finds xp, will prompt for choice of repair (R) or new install ...choose R ...will look like new install, but will keep all files and programs (and all viruses and malware!!!):) :)
