I'm running AVG Anti-Virus Free Version 8.0.138, which includes an Anti-Spyware module. I don't think earlier version included this module.

My question. Should I now uninstall Windows Defender? Will they be in conflict with each other or slow down my Laptop? Thanks

Good question, but it's been my opinion that Defender works best when something else is run alongside it. I have also found Defender to be surprisingly agreeable. I can't think of one instance where I have even heard of Defender conflicting with a different antispyware program.... so, I'd say just leave well enough alone. If you notice a drop in performance, or obvious signs of conflicts, then remove, but I think it will be OK.

Thanks. Sounds logical to me. In fact that's what I've been doing for a few days, and haven't noticed any decrease in preformance but just wanted to check with people in the know :)
