   When I open windows defender and go to check for new definitions it shows that i clicked it but it does nothing ive been sit here wait for it to do something but it hasnt done anything ive looked on the microsoft support forums and none of those describes my situation so if anyone has any input on this situation it would be greatly appreciated

   What security applications do you have installed? disable any firewall, antivirus and spybot if installed and try again.
   
   Grab the Windows Update log file and attach, Click Start, click Run, type %windir%\windowsupdate.log in the Open box, and then press ENTER, save the text file and attach, guide on how to attach the log HOW TO: Attach Items To Your Post
