Windows Defender

    Hi all

    I have been using windows defender for a long time now and just recently it hasnt been starting up. The following message comes up when it tries to start

    'Application failed to initialize: 0x800106ba

    I appreciate any help

    What version of Windows Defender are you using ?

    If you are still using a beta version then you need to uninstall it and install the final version from Here

    As you don't appear to have a specific malware problem I have moved this thread to the software forum where more people will be able to respond.

    It never did a thing for me, I deleted it from my PC. I just haven't been able to figure out what Defender is doing, so I removed it entirely.
