    'Windows - Delayed Write Failed'

I keep getting these messages out of the blue and it causes my PC to crash. When it happens, the only thing I can do is turn it off by the mains.

The message is usually followed by something to do with Temporary Internet Files.

I've attempted to do a virus scan with AVG but the messages come up when performing it and therefore it's unable to complete.

I've attempted Googling it but I've not had much luck.

I would post this in the Drivers section as something tells me it's to do with that, but I haven't a clue how to update my drivers.

    Any ideas guys?

    Thanks.

If you think it is a driver issue ...boot into safe mode and check your event logs for errors ....and run the check disk from there as well as your anit-virus and CCleaner.

Having looked at the problem in more detail (it is happening practically all the time now), I've found that often the message is 'Windows - Delayed Write Failed. Not all data could be saved in C:\WINDOWS\system32\config\SysEvent.Evt'.

The message alternates between 'SysEvent.Evt' and 'SecEvent.Evt' at the end.

Since deleting the Temp Files, the messages relevant to those aren't occuring, only the ones above.

Does this mean anything to anyone?

One thing I will ask: - in the screenshot below, are all the $NtUninstall folders meant to be there?

You may have a full event viewer or Dr watson files ...here are some tools/info on clearing these files:

These uninstall files get created when you install MS patches (either automatically or manually), if you are not going to uninstall the patches, then sure go ahead. But considering recent experiences with MS's updates and Hot Fixes, I'd suggest keeping them for at least a week to make sure that you're not having problems with one of the patches.
