    Problems with software/programs should be posted in the Software Forum which is where I will move this to. Not sure why you are posting HJT logs and posting in the Malware Forum. Every problem with software applications is not due to malware.

    Caliban I don't need no steenkin' title!

    Greetings, Jack421.

    Do you have your Windows Vista disk? If so, you might try the following:

    1. Open a Command Window in Administrator mode:

    * Click Start.
    * Click All Programs, then Accessories.
    * Right click on the Command Prompt option.
    * In the drop down menu which appears, click the Run as Administrator option.
    * You may be asked for authorization. Click the Continue button if you are the administrator or insert the administrator password.

    2. Start the System File Checker

    * In the Command Prompt window, type: sfc /scannow.
    * Press Enter.
    * You’ll see “The system scan will begin”.

    The scan may take some time and windows will repair/replace any corrupt or missing files. You will be asked to insert your Vista disk if it’s needed.

    Close the Command Prompt window when the job is finished, reboot, and then try the Windows DVD Maker to see if your symptoms have changed.

    Do you have the file iac25_32.ax or lmpgd140.ax on your system?

    I'm researching what might break Windows DVDMaker.

    Use search to find a file, found on the right hand column when you press the start button.

    We don't want it uploaded! Tell me which file you have.

    I asked you to search for those two files as I explained, if either or both is on your computer it can break Windows DVDMaker.

    You need to unregister this intel codec.
    1. Start the cmd (and run as an administrator)
    2. type this in
    Code:
    regsvr32 -u iac25_32.ax

    The "shuts off after I click next" was solved by what I told you to do. If it did not solve your problem, I have no other tips as to how to fix it.
    There is a "repair" tool which I will not recommend because it is the program RegCure. I've seen more computers broken with bad registry cleaners than fixed. The only registry cleaner I feel comfortable recommending is CCleaner.

    You can try running that and see if it cleans up the registry of outdated items to get Windows DVDMaker working.
