Windows - Endless Recursive Search Results??

XP Pro SP3, all updates, 2 physical disks: C:/D: and E:.

I'm searching for thousands of similar files to merge old backups into one location - mainly important family photos - and Windows seems to think it should search recursively, giving me duplicate file listings. It often throws errors if I try to move the files that were found.

My Linux systems have never done this with symlinks, but I don't have *nix on this machine. What else can I do about this? Thanks

    Hello,
Agent Ransack (freeware) may be what you are looking for.

    Hi

You can also use a live Linux CD... most Linux distros offer live CD versions (i.e. Ubuntu, Mint). This way, you can manipulate the files but not install Linux on the machine. Simply download and burn the Live CD, then boot from it.
