    Greetings again.......

Earlier this week we had a thunderstorm and lost power. System has a surge protector. I am certain there wasn't a power spike because the other 4 computers are working.

Computer is HP Pavilion Elite m9340f running W7 64.

Startup repair could not repair, here is the info:

Problem Event Name: Startup Repair Offline
    Problem Signature 01: 6.1.7600.16385
    Problem Signature 02: 6.1.7600.16385
    Problem Signature 03: unknown
    Problem Signature 04: 21199703
    Problem Signature 05: AutoFailover
    Problem Signature 06: 9
Problem Signature 07 No Root Cause

    OS Ver. 6.1.7600.2.0.0.256.1
    Local ID 1033

Next, I ran chkdsk /r It found no problems.

Next, a System Restore, completed successfully.

Restarted, it acts normal for a couple of seconds then the screen flashes blue with some writing but too fast to see. Then returns to Windows Error Recovery.

Next, I read on another post about using Farbar Recovery Scan Tool, ran that, the log is attached.

Thanks in advance for any and all assistance:

When you start the computer, repeatedly press F8 until you see a Windows Startup menu. Roll down the list, and select "Disable Restart on System Failure".

That way, you will be able to post the blue screen (BSOD) error code for us.

    Thanks for the assistance.....

Done, now I can see the BSOD.....

It says remove any new hard drive or controller, run chkdsk (I have already run chkdsk and there are no errors). Or it says it could be a virus.

No new hard disk and I know there is no virus as the computer has all the necessary anti-virus software.

    Here is the info:

    STOP: 0x0000007B (0xFFFFF880009A9928,0xFFFFFFFFC0000034,0X0000000000000000,0X0000000000000000)

    Thanks again

Does it say Inaccessible Boot Device above the 7B stop error?

If so, go into the BIOS and switch the SATA Operation in bios from AHCI to ATA. Then reboot.

Make sure the time and date are correct too.

Is this a Dell computer running Win 7? It appears that Dell's bloatware may be causing this error. Have a look at this thread.

Thanks for your reply mdonah, as stated in the first post it is an HP, it is not the original HD so there is no recovery partition.

The kids trashed the original HD, I was able to recover the data but like all new systems no disks were provided...... I was able to put it back together with a new drive....... Using another computer and installing the original drive as a slave was able to recover all the files that they needed......

So I am stuck, it sees the drive but somewhere in the startup some file must be screwed up......

    Thanks again....

You're going to have to use a W7 DVD to get a command prompt and attempt to use bootrec.exe for a repair.

I would start out just using the basic command without any switches.

Bear in mind that despite being connected to a surge suppressor, a hard drive can be damaged by a sudden power loss.

Thanks the mechanic for your reply.

Will any W7 DVD work? I have an upgrade DVD for Win 7 Pro (this computers) and what I think I used for that hard drive, not sure though.
