Windows Explorer has experienced a problem...

:confused This problem has just started this week. It only happens when I open the 'My Documents' folder. After seemingly opening OK, the following message appears:
"Windows Explorer has experienced a problem and needs to close."
Theres a couple of buttons, of which one is to Debug but this doesn't do anything, except windows closes. I clicked the "more information" button and got this:
"Error Signature AppName: Explorer.exe AppVer6.0.2900.5512
ModName:fun_avcodec.dll ModVer:0.00 Offset:000301a"

I tried a system restore but each attempt, with various dates, failed.

I disabled the restore function and carried out full scans with Norton, Registry Mechanic, Spybot, Adaware and Windows Defender, and then re-enabled the retore function, re-booted, but still no good. Adawre did detect 18 items, but unfortunatley I didn't note them, (I think one was MDR??? ). Anyway I got them removed but still the problem so maybe a red herring.

I can open other files such as 'My Pictures' but if I try to access 'My Documents' thru this route I still get the same problem, which is very annoying because the 'My Documents' folder is like the gateway to all my other folders.

I'm using windows XP Home. Also have Spywareblaster on pc too.

Any suggestions/advice greatly apprreciated.

 

Consider updating Samsung PC Studio, and/or removing it if there is no way to stabilize it. Thats what the culprit is.
