Windows Explorer keeps crashing?

For the last 3 or 4 days for some strange reason Windows Explorer keeps crashing on me. Ive never had this problem before and its beginning to annoy me. It just does it every so often (30mins to an hour apart usually). My start bar, and all my icons on the desktop will disapear. Then it will say Windows Explorer Has Encountered A Problem And Has To Close. Seconds later, everything reappears, except the little icon for A2 dosent come back on the bottom right. I have to relaunch A2 to get its icon back.

So I thought it was A2 because of this, I uninstalled it and still explorer kept crashing every so often the same. So I have reinstalled A2 again.

I do all the regular maintainence on my PC, Clear crap off it, Defrag etc. I cant get my head around this as I have not had this problem before and have not got no new stuff on here!

Im just doing my normal stuff, Windows XP, Thunderbird and Firefox open.

Diskeeper, A2 AntiMalware, AVG Free and ZoneAlarm running in the background,

Please help me save my sanity!! :cry

I used AVG until the last upgrade, wouldn't use ZA after last August.
I would try another firewall, Commodo is free on this site, and works well for me on a 299MHz processor.

Do you think ZA and AVG could be conflicting then? If so why does A2s icon keep going missing?

Ive had AVG and ZA for nearly 3 months now without this problem

I might uninstall Zone Alarm, and try something else to see if this continues. Its a bit gutting tho as ZA has served me well till now.

Thanks, Im just waiting for the error to come up again so I can write down the exact error and check it against those...

In the meanwhile Im looking at changing my firewall
