Windows Firewall over AV firewall?

    I am wondering running Windows 7 if it is better to let Windows Firewall run or the Firewall that is with my Anti Virus program? I know that running them both at the same time is a nono.

    Sorry about that, although what av program should not make a difference about what I asked, Windows firewall is either good or not so good, but I am using a program called Vipre, so far it has been great.

    I'm familiar with Vipre av. I was a beta tester for them for several years.

    I'm not sure about the price differential between just the av and the Internet Security. If it is a lot, I'd install the av and let Windows free firewall handle inbound and outbound traffic. If the price for the Internet Security Suite isn't too much more than good for the Suite.

    I have a lifetime subscription to Vipre Internet Security. Still wondering which is best firewall though.

    Good luck finding a comparison between free and paid firewalls.
    You'd need to find some people who ran both Windows builtin and Vipre Security Suite and then posted their conclusions.

    About the best you can do is run one for a few months then run the other and see which you prefer.

    I do not run Vipre AV But I run some thing similar.

    I Run AVG Internet security and the windows Firewall option and malwarebytes pro.And i must say i am very well protected 90% of the stuff that i might download either AVG or malwarebytes will block it instantly if it detects any Nasty's that might come threw..

    Windows firewall it self offers very little to all most no kinda protection it will not warn you if you got some thing nasty like AVG or malwarebytes does.But it is all ways good to have an extra lair of protection.
