    Hi,

I have the same problem with two computers in two different physical locations. After a restart of Windows I login and windows is fine for about 20-30 seconds then pretty much everything locks up. If I just let the computer sit after about 7 minutes Windows comes back to life and works as expected until the next reboot. As I mentioned I have the same symptoms on 2 computers at 2 locations. The computer motherboards and CPU are different but other than that the computer are basically configured the same with the same software installed on each.

I notice in the computer logs errors that show

A timeout (30000 milliseconds) was reached while waiting for a transaction response from the ShellHWDetection service.

A timeout (30000 milliseconds) was reached while waiting for a transaction response from the BITS service.

A timeout (30000 milliseconds) was reached while waiting for a transaction response from the Appinfo service.

A timeout (30000 milliseconds) was reached while waiting for a transaction response from the LanmanServer service.

From these I deduce that Windows is looking for a piece of hardware and waiting for a response that is what is locking the computer, but I have no idea how to find and fix what it is looking for.

A solution would be appreciated. :)
