Windows Installer, Dialog Boxes, Norton???

When I try to open a Word Doc, the following occurs:

1. A Windows Installer box pops up saying "preparing to install"

2. A Microsoft Office Word box pops up and says "The command cannot be performed because a dialog box is opened. Click 'OK' and then close open dialog boxes to continue"

3. When I click 'ok'. a Norton Antivirus box pops up and says "Norton 2006 does not support the repair feature. Please uninstall and reinstall".

4. After I click ok this box will appear three times, and then in about 2-3 seconds, the word doc I was trying to open opens up like nothing happened.

I have run Adaware SE, Norton, Yahoo AntiSpy and found nothing. I tried "System Restore" but it does not work and says "no changes have been made". I am not sure what is going on. Any input on this?

Oh, by the way, right after the above, for like a split second the following message comes up:

"Please wait while Windows Configures Norton 2006".

I wonder if the Norton Office Plugin virus component is playing silly buggers as it usually does, try this in case that is the issue, basically what I suggest is you disable the Norton Office Plugin... not really needed anyway.

Its a ok Antivirus, but has now suffered from being too bloated with many various parts to it like the office plugin, antispyware, firewall etc.. so can cause some weird ass issues.

The office one being a corker!!! but glad this fix worked for you
