I have just gone through a spyware cleanup process. When done I have this odd issue.

When I first re-boot or when I right-click on a folder in explorer, I get a small window first titled "Windows Installer". Then it changes to a window titled "Symatec Antivirus" showing a time remaining progress bar. While showing the process bar, a new window titled "Symantec Antivirus" opens and states it is trying to find a file in the installation package "symantec antivirus.msi." The defaut path in the text box is C:\swd\_tb03028\imgwin\nav9030\en\. This exact path does not exist, but several other _tbxxxxx do exist, I have to hit cancel about 6 times to get the boxes to go away.

Can anybody help please? It is a coporate edition of Symantec - vr 9.0.3.1

Try the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility available from HERE.

I have downloaded the windows installer cleanup utility but am not sure what to do with it. It looks like a way to cleanup any remaining install info that remains after removing an application. My issue is not specific to an application that I am aware of.

The instructions should be in a Readme text file included, anyway, HERE they are (in the grey box half-way down).
