Windows is loading files...

Please help me! Last night an accident up the road cause the power to go out while I was playing on the computer. When the power came back on today I tried to start the computer and it asked to start windows normally which I did. It got stuck on a black screen saying "Windows is loading files..." and a progress bar that turned white. So after a few imatient minutes I hit the power button to turn it off and back on. It then said there was some sort of problem and asked to recover so I chose that and it went back to the black "Windows is loading files..." screen, the bar turned white and nothing. So again I held the power button and tried again. Now every time I turn it on I get the same thing. Blue screen with options to F11 F9 etc then the black loading files. I tried putting in the upgrade to windows 7 disk and told the f11 menu to show the start up stuff. It asked to "Press any key to boot from disk" but went right back to the evil black loading screen. PLEASE HELP!

Using the CD, try giving it a full 10 minutes to get to a screen where you select the language. So hit any key to boot from CD and after the loading files bar completes, wait 10 minutes to see if it goes further. (I know on my computer when booting to the Recovery Environment from USB there is a very long pause but it eventually finishes loading. You may be experiencing something similar although from CD)
