Windows Live Mail Question.

    "Can Windows Live Mail be uninstalled?" (XP Home Edition SP3).:foolish

    Have you looked in Add or Remove Programs? It should be there. If so, just select it and click the remove/uninstall button.

    I clicked on `Add or Remove Programs and found the following 4 items listed:

    1: Windows Live Essentials

    2: Windows Live Sign-in Assistant

    3: Windows Live Sync

    4: Windows Live Upload Tool

    I am guessing that I will need to uninstall each of those, yes? :confused

    Hi

    Do you have any other of the Live series of applications installed you wish to keep? (Live messenger, writer, Photo)

    You will have to uninstall Live Essentials as Mail is part of it and if you wish to keep thinks like Live, Worter, Photo, Messenger then re-install Live Essentials but custom install the parts you want only, leave Live Mail out etc

    Signin Assistnat is good it you use Hotmail, MSN or Live mail online. Live Sync is good if using Skydrive, as is upload tool.

    I just went ahead and uninstalled all of the Windows Live applications that I saw in `Add or Remove Programs`.

    I had to restart Windows to complete this.
    I then ran CCleaner and used the Registry integrity tool to remove any left over files which did the trick. The desktop icon remaining went into the Recycle bin. :)
