Windows Live One Care-good or bad ?

    i have just posted an issued re another topic; i thank all reponders in advance; now, i have a question re: Windows Live One Care; is it worth the subscription ? i am using AVG free, Zone Alarm, and Windows Defender; i don't think my system has been compromised, but, in light of other issues( see my earlier post re: failed installation of 1e7 ) i can't be sure; thanx again

    I would echo MarkT's post above, while OneCare is getting better it's just not their yet, while it has some great features that some security applications dont have in the free versions, namely allowing you to manage your PC circle (if you have multiple PCs as OneCare allows you to install it on upto 2 PCs with its licence), this allows you to monitor the other PCs security status.

    I do have Onecare installed on two laptops as I'm part of a perpetual beta on this application and both these PCs have not been compromised with malware and on one OneCare managed to block an infected website installing the rogueware application Antivirus XP 2008.

    So think as Mark does you have just the right security applications installed, but in the end the vast majority of keeping yourself safe online and free from malware is user based, in what and where you download and not being click happy with popups that look like Windows notification messages, worth reading what they are first as many malware disguise themselves as looking like legit messages from Windows.
