Windows Mail Error

I recently (just a little bit ago) installed a cable router to my computer. I also got a new modem. I figured this would mess up some of my connections with a new IP address and all. I checked all of my POP3 and SMTP connections. Here is my entire error:

>Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes >for this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of >inactivity. Account: 'mail.charter.net', Server: 'pop.charter.net', Protocol: >POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800CCC0F

If you need any system information or any kind of log, by all means, ask.

Hi

Which Windows version you using? ( guessing Vista ) and is it fully upto date will all Service Packs and updates?

Some troubleshooting steps to take http://support.microsoft.com/kb/813514 but also as you have changed your router, sometimes your software firewall can cause issues and block some outgoing data, so disable any software firewall or antivirus you have and test email again.

If the mail works ok then what firewall and antivirus application do you have installed? So check that you first have internet access via th enew modem and router ( likely thats what your posting via now ) but also check that Windows Mail is not blocked in the firewall settings, also disable the AntiVirus's Email Scanning option.

Recheck and doubly make sure that your incomming and outgoing servers in mail are correct http://www.charter.com/customers/support.aspx?SupportArticleID=1417

I'm sorry, I fixed the problem. I had a secure SSL. I tried to delete my thread, but it won't let me. Should we keep it up for future reference to others?
