Windows Media Encoder 9

I just downloaded Windows Media Encoder 9 to record webinars (screen capture function). The video capture works fine but I cannot get any audio.

I am running WinXP Pro SP3. Have NVidia Quadro FX 1700 Video Card and a Gigabyte GA-X48T-DQ6 Motherboard with an Intel Core 2 Extreme QX9770 / 3.2 GHz processor, 4 GB DDR3 Memory. The default audio on the motherboard is Realtek HD Audio.

I don't know if the audio can be captured "internally" from the sound card. Anybody have a way I can troubleshoot this or a workaround?

The webinars are fully on line, no phone audio. I was hoping since the sound was already in the "card", I could capture it. I log onto various webinar formats WebEx, GoToMeeting, proprietary from ThinkOrSwim Brokerage platform (they use a web broadcast of some sort but they don't reveal the source).

So, you are advising to put a mic in front of the speaker to do the capture. I was also thinking of putting a cable from the audio LINE OUT to the AUDIO LINE IN. Do you think that may work as well? If there is phone audio, I have a converter that can go from the phone line into the mic input.
