windows media player 10 error

hi. i don't know what happened, but recently, WMP 10 stopped playing files. I mean any kind of file.. whether audio or video... mp3, wma, mpg, avi... the works. i recently installed a video codec in one of my emulators, but that should have nothing to do with WMP. i get the msg that says WMP has encountered an error and needs to close. there's no error number, and the log it sends doesn't have much info. (or any that's useful to ME anyway) any help would be appreciated.

One thing i need to know.
Does it close when you start it up, or, when you try to play something like a .MP3 file?

 

both actually. if i start it up from the start menu, it opens with a blank display, and i get the error msg. if i try to open a file, the file starts playing, and then about 2 seconds later, the same msg pops up (WMP has encountered... blah blah blah)

ps. i can use musicmatch to play the same files... so i know the files aren't corrupt.

 

Press the click here link at the bottom of the error message, does it give you anything?

hey... fixed it. my anti-keylogger recognized the core WMP file as bad, so it shut it down. all's well now. thanx.
