windows media player 10

    Does anyone know why I can hear a video,but I can't see it.I just installed a new version of windows xp,and a little while later the videos stopped showing.Thank you!

    Well, I don't know which videos you are trying to play, but I'm guessing it's something you downloaded. Which in most cases means you need a diffrent codec. One which MS doesn't supply.

    You most likely need to install xvid/divx because it sounds like your missing the needed video codecs. Although it may not be xvid, it could be a diffrent codec too.

    I'm trying to play downloaded videos I never had a problem before,how do I download the codecs?I have the divx player,but I would like to keep using the media player.Thanx!

    Kegan's pretty much named off all the codecs you might need. Except for xvid. Which you may need. http://nic.dnsalias.com/xvid.html

    That's all the formats you see online usually. Besides from some very rare cases, but if it's not one of these you'd have to give more info about the video file you're trying to play.
