I had Windows Media Player 11 installed but could only see the actual player. Uninstalled it and trying to install version 10. Keep getting a message during the install of 10 that a newer version is running and setup cannot continue. :confused

What must I do to go back a version without this message reappearing?

All help will be so appreciated. ;) :p

    How did you uninstall it?
The proper way is to remove it, is to be sure all the windows updates are shown in your add/remove list and click remove from there.

The player cannot be completley removed, it's an unremovable part of the Windows operating system. The best you can do is to go to Add/Remove and removal will let it roll back to your previous version.

I removed all the files and folders and the entries in the Registry. After the Install cannot continue message I decided to reinstall version 11 and hope for the best. Someone on another forum advised me of how to see things like File and Options. It installed correctly the first time, I just didn't know how to use it. :-D

Windows Media Player 11 is alive and well and I'm one happy camper.
