I seem to be having a very hard time finding out how to turn off WMP from ALWAYS updating and searching for songs. Its very frustrating trying to delete anything. As soon as i delete a song it comes right back. Can anyone help, Maybe someone can tell me how to just COMPLETELY delete windows media player.

You can not delete WMP, it is too intertwined with the OS. I never set mine up on a few computers.
I use VLC and make it the default player so I do not have to deal with WMP.

If you mention your version of Windows and version of WMP installed, some one might be able to tell you what exact settings to change.

I have windows 7 home premium with service pack one. I really don't know what version of media player I have, I am assuming it's media player 11.

If you click Help in WMP, one of the options should be About. Choose that and it tells you the version of the program you are running.

As I said, I do not have WMP set up on most of my computers, including my Win 7 one so I can't go in and tell you what settings to change unless I set mine up and I'm unwilling to do that.

It appears it might be version 12.
