windows media player

I dont know how to explain this..its very confusing, but for some reason when i tried to play a dvd it played, but the voices and the playback was kind of slow. I have been able to play dvd's before and everything was fine. its just all of a sudden it started doing this. I did not change anything with the settings. Does anybody know how to change this to normal playback.

 

I dunno for sure. WMP doesn't normally support playback of DVD's, unless you pay for that addon, and I've never seen someone who actually paided for such an addon since you can watch DVD's in other apps that are free. FOr example, powerDVD can play it and usually a copy of powerDVD comes with a DVD drive when you buy it. If you don't have that I believe VLC can play back DVD's and it's entirely free.

 

I downloaded VLC and the sound is still very choppy. I tried different DVD'S and they are all the same, the sound is choppy and the picture is clear, but is a little choppy as well. This must mean it is my computer, but i do not remember changing any settings on my computer and i was able to play dvd's before and everything was fine..does anybody have an idea?

 

do you happen to have win dvd on your computer if you do then you can watch dvds on that

i use it and it works great its alot better then windows media player

 

Try disabling some of the programs running in the background, like the ones in the system tray for instance, while you are watching the DVDs. Though if you disable your antivirus and firewall, make sure you're disconnected from the internet first for safety's sake. If this improves DVD performance, you may want to consider a memory upgrade if you want to keep these processes running.
