windows non-update?

    I just reinstalled Xp again....on a HP nx9008. Iknew i'd have about 1000 updates (service pack one) but it wheni got all the SP1 updates done and the WGA popped up saying to do SP2 All it does is is just forever have the green bar go and go and go.I figured it would take a min or two but I let it run for about an hour and still the green bars going and going and going??? Any suggestions?Reinstall agin? I know my laptop is slow and all but this is too much!!
