Hi, why does windows "PRINT SPOOLER" have to access the internet for? I`ve heard some people set their firewalls to keep it blocked.
Is this program vital to the windows operating system or not?
    THANK YOU MUCH

I can't tell you 'why' it wants to access the net but I can tell you that in *my* experience there is no reason to let it access the net. Most of my friends with firewalls have also stopped it from communicating with the outside world with no adverse effects.

    It goes to microsft's site
basically it tells microsoft that your using your printer i dont know why and as fiver22 said you can disable it from connecting to MS
i have blocked it (zonealarm) and ive had no ill afects

What evidence do you have that its going to the MS site?

If you don't have any, then you have no business informing people that its "telling" MS anything.
