What kind of computer is it, and what are the specs!!??

If it is a relatively new video card...then odds are windows doesn't have it's own driver built in for you graphics card!! Just install the driver that came with card and/or computer!!

Download and install Everest Home Edition from HERE. (freeware)

That will tell you what the video card is and supply links for the latest drivers.

If you are unsure then post back with the card name and model.

Sounds like you are using windows default vga drivers. You need to update with a driver specific to your video card to take advantage of the card resolution.

Most likely your card is nvidia, ati, or intel integrated. Please post your video card manufacturer and model! Either way, go to windows update (www.windowsupdate.com) and scan for updates for your computer - choose the custom option when scanning. Then go and download any optional hardware updates that are on there. If it is a video card driver problem, then it should be taken care of now.

I would personally be against downloading drivers from the windows update site as in my experience they are usually old. Better off doing what insomniac suggested.

Ive had problem downloading update drivers from microsoft as well always with radeon and have to roll back the driver and find the proper 1 so if you know the make of the card go on the site and see if u can get the drivers for it

In my opinion...the more of a non generic driver you get...the better off you are!!

The Windows Update site isn't a good idea for drivers, especially for video cards.

It's not totally accurate in detecting the card, and it's drivers are old as stated above, especially considering that companies like ATI and nVidia update theirs on an almost monthly basis, and that can mean considerable improvements as well as ironing out previous bugs.
