If there a software out there that will tell me what the security settings are on a domain computer.
i go on different jobs and depending how they setup the security for that computer determins if the software i am configuring will work correctly. I knew what security settings are configured i can then notify the client where their problem is.
We have had the IT department change security settings and the Control Computer would not control the plant. We were told that no security changes were made but found out later, by another IT guy that there were security changes done. When it set them back the system came back up.

Not sure what specific settings you want to monitor, but Microsoft does have a decent security tool available.

It's called the Microsoft Baseline Security Analyzer, and is recommended to be run on any Microsoft server.

This will assess the system for security flaws, and give a detailed report on what does not meet their standards, and how to correct these holes.

I will try this.
What i am looking for is something to tell me what the security settings are, I dont want to change them, i want to know what type of user and restrictions they have. This would tell me if the person who logged in has all of the security setting needed to run the program correctly.
This would also make it easier to allow the client to talk to their IT department to get the matter straight and allow the client to know if something has changed that could have caused the problem.
