Windows up-dates will not install at shut down

For the past week, my computer shuts down and says that there is an update to install. It is 1 of 1. The next day, that same thing happens. I suspect that the update is failing to install; however, I do not get a message to that effect.

Is there a folder where I can go to see what needs to be updated and do the update manually?

what OS are you using

 

if you are using vista, go to control panel and click on windows update. there should be a tab inside that states check to see the most recent updates. In that panel it will also show the updates that were unsuccessful

If you are using xp (this may also apply to vista) when you open windows update there should also be a tab or folder that shows you the most recent updates or updates that didn't install.

 

I am running XP. I did a search for the Windows Update Folder, but nothing showed.

I have never noticed my computer updating that often before.

Glad you got it squared away, at least now you know what and when items are going into your computer
