Hi, I've got a very familiar situation to an old thread: "windows update not working... " by srmjdm on 11-17-06 05:10, addressed by chaslang. After finishing off my clean up (see my other thread) I've been running Windows Update on XP Pro and can't install Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1 and .NET Framework 3.5 Family Update for .NET versions 2.0 through 3.5 (KB951847) x86

I've tried uninstalling, re-downloading and re-installing all the .net updates from v.1 through 3 as advised by a different forum. On following Microsoft's troubleshooter, I've tried to follow http://support.microsoft.com/kb/910341, but all I can see in SensLog is attached in the screenshot. I followed the advice given by Chaslang to srmjdm but when I run the fixME.reg, i get this message: "Cannot import C:\Documents and Settings\Rob\Desktop\fixME.reg: Not all data was successfully written to the registry. Some keys are open by the system or other processes."

The only program open was Internet Explorer. I've uninstalled all virus programs, I was going to update these after updating Windows. Any advice?
