Windows Update For Windows 7 Broken

Hope that Microsoft fixes this fast! Here I thought that it was my PC creating the above problem! DUH Microsoft...

 

I just opened windows update and I am also getting the same message. Cannot Update as the service is not currently running.

 

I just ran the troubleshooter now and Windows Updates is working again. Give the troubleshooter a go

I found this little piece of info on the web:

"...Some recommend deploying older fixes released by Microsoft, as this is isn’t the first time the software giant breaks down Windows Update on Windows 7, but at the same time, it appears that setting back the date to March 12, 2017 also restores Windows Update functionality..."

The following app also fixes this problem: WindowsUpdateFixer 2.1.2.

Since Microsoft created this problem I figured that they should fix it, not me. So I called them this afternoon and had them fix it via remote, so they solved it.
