Hi!, since a long time I'm not able to run Windows Update, because every time when I download the updates and try to install them, everything goes fine, but at a certain point my pc restarts. So I'm not able to update my windows version, which eventually wont be good for my pc I think..
How can I resolve this? Without having to buy a new pc?
    P.S. It's not a malware or virus I think.

Check the computers date and time.

Have you checked your firewall permissions?

Turn off all Start up Items and 3rd party services in Msconfig.
    Start/run and type "msconfig"

Disable all Startup items, and under the Services tab check the box called "Hide all Microsoft services", and uncheck what ever is left.

    Also....
    Control Panel/Internet Options/General Tab/Settings button/View Objects button.

On the page that loads remove the item called Update Class, that is the ActiveX control that Windows Updates puts in.

    Then try Windows Update again.

    Regards...

tompiercingloos, I would complete your thread in Malware to remove any nastys before attempting to update your PC as many updates can fail or not go correctly due to malware.
