Hello

I just had to reformat my harddirve, it was giving me problems.
I installed windows xp, thats what ive been using. as everyone knows, you need to urgrade internet explorer from 6 to 8. You have to installed the windows updates service packs. It tells me the page encountered a problem and need log off error 0x8024400a. Ive been looking up this error. So far right now ive formatted my drive three times and no luck, same thing. im thinking its maybe my harddrive. anyone else has any suggestions please help.

You can try the troubleshooter for Windows Update.

If your version of Windows XP is not SP3, then you will not be able to install any updates through MS update because MS stopped support for anything below SP 3 almost 2 years ago on July 13, 2010.
Download SP3, if it is missing http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=24
If you are missing 2, you may be able to get it here
