Hey guys. My autoplay isn't working. When I insert a blank DVD/CD, thumb drive or a memory card into the card reader, the autoplay option does not appear asking me what action to take. I went to Control Panel -> Hardware and Sound -> Autoplay and checked the box which says "Use autoplay for all media and devices" and set what autoplay action is to be taken when for each media and device.

I also opened up services.msc and ensure that the service "Shell Hardware Detection" is Started and startup type is automatic. I even edited the registry values. All of my efforts were in vain. Autoplay doesn't work. Please provide me with a solution!! Thank you!

Btw, it would seem that this problem occured after doing malware removal as according to this guide. I am using Windows Vista 32 bit Home Premium.

Yeah, I tried that. Didn't work. However, the problem is fixed now. Apparently I had to update my Nero which was causing the problem. Thanks for the help though! :D
