Windows Vista: Cannot execute ***.exe

Hey, when i try to download something. Like whatidownload.zip. I download it from firefox, and into WinRAR, then i see the file and it is 3 files, Readme, some internetadress and whatidownload.exe the i try to drag whatidownload.exe to desktop. Doesnt work. Then i tro to extract it to any place on the computer. Doesnt work. And then i try double-click the file whatidownload.exe and then an error message comes up: Cannot execute: "C:.........whatidownload.exe.
Please help me solve this problem ASAP. :major

 

Since you use WinRar, just extract it first to the same folder or a new one. It should then work. Nothing to do with Vista.

 

I tryed that, but when i extract only the readme file and the webadress file are being exracted, not the program, and if i try to extract only the program nothing gets extracted.

 

Are you sure that this program can't be downloaded in some other form from some place else?

 

Yes, or atleast i havent found any other places...

 

Well, a problem with .exe files sounds an awful lot like malware. You need to run a lot of scannings...

 

Do you get any warnings from your antivirus software when you attempt to extract this file?

 

No, dont get any warning from Antivirus...
