Originally I started in the Malware Forums, I was told to use a specific program, and restart my computer. After this, the only thing happened was that the Dell Logo Screen would come up, and keep recycling.

My laptop is a Dell Studio 1535
Bought it with windows Vista 32-bit
    Ram - 4g

I'm not sure what other info you need.

I contacted Dell about the CDs that did not come with my laptop and they sent out backup rather quickly. I've tried reinstalling Vista with the CD but to no avail. Originally when i tried all that happened was a black screen, and then I finally got it to work, or so I thought. It stated that Windows files were being installed, went to about 1/4 of the way then I received an error message.

Windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause. Then it gave me options on how to fix the problem, which is with the same CD i just tried to fix it with.

it also gave Status: 0xc0000001 if this means anything.

A little help would be greatly appreciated thanks.

Re: Windows Vista CD Boot up

Okay, nevermind, it seems I got it to work after a couple tries, I'm not sure if this is normal but its kind of relaxing to see the Vista splash screen again.

Since I chose the repair option on the software menu, do I need to worry about having the correct drivers installed? Or will it just repair to its original state before the problem?

Try booting to the cd and go into the Recovery Console. Once there, type fixmbr and hit enter. Then exit out and try to restart your system.

EDIT: Posted over your post. No, you should still have your original drivers. As well as original files. But I would ask you to return to the malware forum and let's have you run MGTools again and see if all is well.
