Windows Vista Service Pack 2 will not install

I have tried everything to get service pack 2 to install.

Both manual and online.

I ran the automatically diagnose and fix common problems with Windows Update tool and it said the solution was fixed and still no luck.

I had a terrible time removing some viruses and with the help here was able to remove the virus. I feel that if I don't patch windows it will be just a matter of time before I get another virus.

Any idea what I can try next? Reinstalling windows isn't and easy option because I did not get the disks when buying my laptop.

I could order the disks from toshiba but they want $30 for shipping.....

I have gone through those steps and even uninstalled all of the programs I installed (blackberry and HP Printer Stuff) and still no luck.

I don't have much installed on this computer because I only use it for gmail, banking, and checking with friends on facebook.

 

I believe vista has a repair option , try tapping F8 at boot time, if you haven't tried it, there is also a repair disk available.
