Windows Vista Spyware

Came across this headline while surfing net:

I see it as MS protecting their interests as many companies that make high end SW do. With a third of all XP installs being pirated, they don't want the same thing to happen to Vista.

 

Golly gee! I've got to believe it coming from that source! Also, to log into this site, I need to give personal information, so i now consider major geeks my favorite spyware.

 

Do the one third pirated copies include the multiple copies used in a single household or by a single person using several computers during upgrades?
Do they also include instances where a licensed owner uses two copies on his own company, one as a backup for emergencies?

Statistics can be misleading. Best to know the source of that information and what it's made of.

That's MacDailyNews way of saying they just found out about Windows Genuine Advantage®.

 

Can't find the article that I got that from but MS's stats show that %20 failed WGA, then you can add on folk who don't bother to get updates or have workarounds. I agree that stats can be misleading, it all depends on how they are presented and who is doing the presenting.
