Problem description: Stuff looks funny. Webpages are missing background info (see pics), desktop items' titles aren't visually blended with desktop background. WYSIWYG editor doesn't work when posting in various forums.

Attempted fixes: Uninstalled Java, updated Firefox

Recent changes: I went to http://www.pullandsave.com and Firefox notified me that it needed a plugin, which I saw was for Java. Instead of trusting my local junkyard to give me a safe web link to update my computer, I opened Sun Java and updated it through its own update console. Then Firefox got PO'd and disabled its java console and requested a restart.

I have since uninstalled Sun Java and all of its updates through Add/Remove Programs. I also used IE for a few minutes to see if it had this rendering problem as well, and it did (else my next step would have been to uninstall/reinstall Firefox).

I know enough to believe that Java isn't the problem and that it might be PHP / HTML related, but I don't have the know-how to try to fix this without instructions.

    Hi

Open up Internet Explorer and click Tools > Internet Options, General tab, then at the bottom click Accessibility and make sure nothing is ticked, especially Ignore colors specified on webpages

Or could be a Windows Accessibility option, in Control Panel > Accessibility > click the Display tab > and untick Use high contrast and Apply.

and as you use Firefox then follow this View > Page Style should not be set to "No Style" should be "Basic Page Style"
