windows will not load

Hi,

Since last Saturday this problem has occurred. When I turn the computer on windows doesn't load up, it keeps diverting to a page saying "windows cannot load this may be due to a software or hardware change". It then provides me with several options:

1: load windows in safe mode
2: load windows in safe mode with networking
3: load windows to last known good settings

I have tried all of these options, however none load windows they all divert back to this page.

Has anyone experienced this? or have any idea as to what the problem is and how can it be fixed.

Any advice is much appreciated.

have you changed any hardware? tell us the prehistory of it.

 

Hi,

None of the hardware has been changed, its a family computer and have checked with everyone. The only thing that does happen is people leave their memory sticks in the usb or take them out without following the procedure to close down.

My brother recently ran check on spybot and found spyware in registry key which was deleted. Is spyware likely to have anything to do with this?

The PC is used for internet and work so am positive that there have been no hardware changes. (Not that any of my family would know how.)

ok, do you have a windows installation cd? boot from it and choose an option "repair", i think it should help.

 

Yes i have the windows CD and will try your suggestion. Will post on the forum once tried.
