Windows wont boot up

    Windows wont boot up, it says that im missing windows root 32hal dll file. any suggestions. About ready to go out and buy a new windows cd cause i cant seem to find the on that came with the computer, but i really dont want to spend 200 dollars if theres an easy fix. thanks
    {Could i use a friends cd, would it work to repair this.}
