When i try to acess my dell studio 15 laptop, it comes up with the windows boot manager, saying i should boot the windows disc up and "repair your computer", and the error code under it being '0xc0000225'. I have attempted this several times with it at the end just telling me to retry; but fails everytime. And even when i try to do a system restore instead it wont let me, and comes up with another error message. So is there anyway i would be able to fix this without having to re-install windows and lose everything i had on my hardrive?

Hopefully someone will be able to help, but in the meantime, it might help to say what OS you have?
You might also try unplugging your power supply and removing the battery. Hold the ON button for maybe 30 seconds to reset. Remove all peripherals - especially any USB devices, plug in and reboot.
Have you added any hardware or software lately - just before the problem started?

As far as I can tell, this came with W7 pro, and if you cannot boot into safe mode, with any setting, and the disc will not solve it, then I would , first of all, remove the hard drive, and get your data copied , so that you do not lose it. (a hard drive caddy is useful for this, connected to another computer, via a usb lead- but if doing so, before looking into your hard drive- run a virus scan from the other computer/laptop, on your hard drive, as a precaution.)
Most often , when this happens, a complete re-install is the only way forward, but there are other options.
If you have , then having saved your data, You could try the Dell on-board recovery from the hard drive.

This proceedure will not keep your data, but restores to factory condition.
If it has one, the recovery partition might be found by a reboot, and press Ctrl + F11 at the Dell logo.
Select "Restore" or use the Tab key to highlight it and press Enter.
-- if you wish to continue, click "Confirm", or use the Tab key to highlight it and press Enter.
-- When the utility is finished, click "Finish", or use the Tab key to highlight it and press Enter.
With Windows 7 a corrupted boot can often be repaired, by using the disc , and going to command prompt.
In command prompt-- again, I would stress try to save your data to anither computer as explained previously, then you can use the command prompt from the recovery part of the Windows 7 dvd, if you have one- NOTE THIS MAY NOT WORK WITH A SYSTEM RECOVERY DVD BY DELL, BUT WITH A WINDOWS 7 DVD.

the proceedure to run bootrec/ fixboot, and fixmbr

I ran into this sort of issue before and my solution is:
    First try updating your BIOS.
Secondly, make sure your RAM is compatible. If so, download memtest86+ and stick it on a CD/USB and boot off of that to test your RAM making sure it isn't failing.
Third, you can try running 'Chkdsk /r'.
If everything seems to be in check, then my last solution is, boot into 'reset to factory settings' and it will take you to a screen where it will say 'reset to factory settings', and to the right of it, click 'Keep files'. Then click on 'reset factory settings', it will prompt you to see if it can perform a quick fix, try that, and it most likely will solve your issue without deleting any of your files.
