Hi there, i recently bought a Maxtor Atlas 15k 68-pin SCSI HDD and an Adaptec 2120s RAID SCSI controller, the problem is the HDD wont show up in windows under disk management, although the controller shows in device manager.
Also in the Adaptec storage manager(ASM) it says a driver update is required but i have the only xp-64 driver on the Adaptec website.
I've updated the firmware of the controller to build 8208 but still no luck.
I spoke to adaptec and they said i need to get drivers from OEM which is HP, so i went to HP's website and dowloaded latest firmware and xp-64 drivers but still no luck.
Adaptec now say i need to pay them $80.00 to continue reciving support but i don't really want to do that :p
any help would be appreciated. Thanx ;)

Could be that hard drive is not powered on, cabling issue, SCSI id issue or termination issue.

Well, im guessing the drive is powered on because it shows up in controller's bios.
Im pretty sure i got the termination right. (only a single drive so pretty simple setup)
The id is set as 0 0 0, still wont show up though
