    Hello :)

I formatted my laptop today and everything has gone fairly smoothly except my sound drivers (but i'll worry about that later) for the moment i'm having trouble activating my version of windows xp (home addition)

When I put in my activation key it says that it is invalid.. so i called up microsoft today thinking that the problem might be that I hadn't de-activated before formatting and they gave me a new code. I put this in and i still have the same problem. I'm not 100% sure that the cd i used to install windows is the same one that came with my laptop as my pc uses the same version, could this be the problem and if not has anyone got any suggestions?

    Thanks for any help

That could be the problem ...or just an error ot putting the code in correctly ..some are hard to read.

You could try activating it with a dialup modem (not over the internet).
