Windows XP Antivirus 2010 and Mccafee

    had XP windows antivirus pop up, it blocked IE and disabled my windows firewall. In addition it disabled .exe folder in the registry so i could not start any executable or batch.
    Important: 1. i did not browse any bad sites!
    2. Mccafee internet suite with the current repository did not spot it!
    3. Moreover when I scan with Mccafee it said the system is clean!
    4. Fortunately I was able to run superantispyware and it removed the trochan.
    5. I had to fix .exe in safe mode.
    6. Malwarebytes were disabled too, after I run it it found more trochans...

    This is not a first time Mccaffee real time let me down.
    Why people still using McCafee?

    Partly because it's one of the main AV suites which are pumped out in the big computer stores such as PC world. Some people don't think to explore beyond Mcafee or Symantec.

    If you do not wish to check for any remaining malware by attaching the requested logs then I will move your thread to software where you can further discuss the pro's and cons of protection software. :)
