    Hey everyone,
I have been having some minor problems with my computer such as a lag in speed and performance, and a big one with the internet is that it redirects me to a 3rd. party when I click on a link that I have searched for. I went through this website and downloaded all of the tools and followed the procedures for malware removal and pc clean up. The only one I couldn't run was the combofix because it said I had to uninstall AVG. The point I'm getting at is that I noticed a reoccurring theme in each tool that the log notes need to be posted to the moderators on this website for further observation eventhough they all said I don't have any malware so I became a member and plan to go back through the procedure again and reply back to this post with the log notes. Any tips before I do it again?

You need to do this. Please uninstall avg and run Combofix as per the instructions! :)

    Exactly right!
Are you trained in malware removal? I am guessing not, which is why you are here in the first place. If you need our help we will be the judge of whether any malware exists or not.
Yes! Don't run procedures twice! It even states not to do this. Just run Combofix and then attach the other logs from already having run:

    Also run this!

Go to TDSSKiller and Download TDSSKiller.zip to your Desktop

    • Extract its contents to your Desktop so that you have TDSSKiller.exe directly on your Desktop and not in any subfolder of the Desktop.
    • Now double click the TDSSkiller.exe file to run it ( if using Vista or Windows 7 do not double click on it but rather, right click and select Run As Administrartor.
    • Allow the application to run and a window will open showing that it is TDSSkiller from Kaspersky
    • Click Start scan
    • It will run rather quickly and will notify you of whether anything is found or not.
    • Follow the instructions to delete/quarantine if asks you what to do when if finds something.
Whether an infection is found or not, a log file should be created on your C: drive ( or whatever drive you boot from) in the root folder named something like TDSSKiller.2.1.1_27.12.2009_14.17.04_log.txt which is based on the program version # and date and time run. Please attach this log to your next reply. (See: HOW TO: Attach Items To Your Post )
