WINDOWS XP HOME EDITION - I need some more help please

Thank you for the lifeline.

I am trying to use RECOVERY CONSOLE because my computer won't boot in any way.

It is giving me these options:

1: C: \minint
2: D: \Minint

Then after selecting one, I was trying to copy c:\windows\system32\config\system c:\windows\tmp\system.bak

the computer said it could not recognize this file.

Then all of the sudden, while the XP disk was still in the computer, it shut down...

Any thoughts?

It couldn't recognize which file? You've listed two. I suspect it's the second one. I have XP Home also but do not have a c:/windows/tmp folder. I do have a c:/windows/TEMP folder, but that's not where system.bak is.
