    Hi guys,

I don't know what happened, but yesterday when I tried to shut down my computer, nothin happened. It was as if my command didn't register, and I had to manually hold the power button to turn off the computer.

Then, when I tried to turn on my computer this morning, everything seemed fine, until I got into windows. The computer froze when I tried to open a file, program, anything. I could however sometimes sneak in opening a program ( ex: updating my anti virus program ) but then after that, it froze again. I can hold alt tab del to open up the task manager, but wouldn't be able to close it after it opens. I've been randomly turning off processes to see if maybe one of them is a virus causing this?

    Help would be much appreciated.

    Thanks

    Andy

    Hey guys,

I decided to boot up my comp in safe mode and see if I could delete some files that may have caused this problem.

The only program that I installed yesterday was a program called webdrive. I couldnt remove it in safe mode, so I decided to boot up normally and hopefully be able to remove it before my comp froze again. Well I did it and after deleting it, my comp froze again. Whenever I open a file or program, the task bar on the bottom gets stuck asif the programs are still open.

I have been able to open more programs each boot up though...

Can anyone help me with this?

    thanks

    Andy

How long did you wait after you pressed shut down before you manually hit the power switch?

Hi Apeboyee. Don't forget that when you boot in Safe Mode to logon as Administrator to delete programs.

I also think that it would be a good idea to post a Hijack log in the spyware section. Just to make sure that you're not infected.

After you know that your computer is clean I think that this download would be helpful.

Do you know how to check your Error codes? If so those could be very helpful for troubleshooting as well.
