Windows XP Lock Up

Alrighty, I do not believe it is spyware/adaware that is doing this. The problem is when we want to switch users. If you are the first one on the computer in the a.m., you are the lucky one. When we want to switch users, the desktop for that person appears, but then it locks up. The only way that person can log on, is by shutting puter down. Any suggestions????

 

My first thought, maybe you dont have enough memory?
What are you system spec's?
How many user's?
When you try to switch users are login off or switching users, maybe try to log off first, then the new user login.
Might also try to clean up your system, delete cookies, dump temp files, etc.
and defrag.
Sometines system restore can save a butt load of files, depending on settings, every now & then I turn off and back on again to dump those excess files.
Might try restore to previous date first see if that makes differance.

You dont think you have spyware/adware, what kind of programs do you run, what kind of antivirus stuff do you run?

Does anything else cause lock up's?
Any error's?

I have the same problem I've tried logging off user and then switching user, no good, just locks up.
